PMA®-CPTAmy and her husband Rick are the Founders of BEYOND MOTION®, a state of the art performance facility with their headquarters in Naples, FL. BEYOND MOTION® is designed to combine the worlds of athlete performance and Pilates. Since 2009 they have been recognized as leaders in the industry training elite and professional athletes alike.
Amy danced as a child and at sixteen she began her fitness career by becoming certified in aerobics and step aerobics. Her passion for fitness fueled her quest for knowledge and throughout the next two decades she earned additional certifications in the Nia Technique, Bellatone, Barre, Zumba (and other dance fitness programs), as well as Yoga. Unfortunately during her twenties Amy develop very severe sciatica and back issues. After trying everything to alleviate her discomfort, she discovered Pilates. Amy was instantly hooked. Pilates was the one thing that finally helped heal her pain. She began her Pilates career with Polestar in 2001 and continued her education through a variety of contemporary Pilates methods including her certifications in the MOTR and Bodhi through Balanced Body. In 2016 Amy partnered with the esteemed Pilates Education Institute to create BEYOND MOTION’s comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program and has been nicknamed the “teacher’s teacher” by her students.

After taking her first class over 18 years ago, Gretchen instantly became hooked on the body, mind, and spirit connection of the Pilates Method. In 2008, she obtained her first training in Mat Pilates under Teri Steele through Dance New Amsterdam in NYC. Gretchen went on to continue her education and received her Comprehensive Certification through Polestar Pilates® in Miami in 2010. She eventually had the opportunity to come back to Polestar as an Instructor, shortly after she also became a Mentor to students going through the Comprehensive Series and then an Educator with Polestar Pilates®.
Gretchen opened up her studio BREATHE PILATES Miami in the fall of 2016 where she hosts many workshops, courses, and weekly Instructor classes. Gretchen also holds a certificate for Pilates for MS™ & Neurological Conditions taught by Mariska Breland. In addition, Gretchen has also completed level I, level II, and level III trainings for the CoreAlign® by Balanced Body. She is both certified by and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. Most recently, Gretchen completed The Kathy Grant Heritage Training® led by Kathy Grant student, Cara Reeser.
Having a Bachelor’s degree and background in Fine Art, Gretchen always is looking for creative ways to facilitate movement and to design fun and interesting classes.
With 17 years of Pilates and Fitness experience, Aviva Abrams is an industry expert. Aviva has over ten certifications in various fitness modalities including Pilates, TRX, Power Plate, Yoga (Ashtanga, Vinyasa), Barre, Reiki, Tupler Technique Treatment for Diastasis Recti, Pink Ribbon Program and ViPR.
Her Pilates journey began as a client in 1999 after a near-fatal car accident. Aviva was fortunate enough to have a friend that recommended Pilates as part of her rehabilitation. It was fantastic for her recovery and she fell in love with the entire method. Aviva decided to pass this knowledge on and help people feel good within their bodies.
Aviva began her career in 2001 working in Michigan as an instructor in the high-end boutique Pilates studios. She spent over 10 years honing her craft including completing the entire Stott Pilates program in May of 2009. She then decided to move to Miami in 2011 to take her career to the next level. She decided to obtain her PMA certification in 2013.
After working for various studios as a Pilates instructor including Equinox and Canyon Ranch, Aviva decided to open her own studio AVIVA PILATES in July of 2017. Her next goal is to add an educational program for new instructors at her studio so she can help mold the industry with quality education.
is the owner of Pilates Studio 1 and has a passion and commitment to sharing the benefits of Pilates for a sound mind and body. Marian, short for Maria Angeles, was born in Madrid, Spain in 1975. At the young age of 7, she began ballet training in Madrid which led to a professional career starting with the Joffrey Ballet in New York City in 1995. Her professional ballet career spanned decades and different continents; including Ballet Florida between 2000 and 2007 based in West Palm Beach.
Marian started the Pilates Method in 2000 as part of her ballet training and fell in love with it right away. She immediately saw the way the Pilates Method changed her body, strengthening and creating long lean muscles, improving her ballet technique tremendously. She soon realized that the Pilates Method was her passion and started training with Michele Larsson from Core Dynamics and received her Pilates certification in 2005, after two years of intense training. In addition to her first Pilates Certification, Marian is certified as a Pilates Master, Second Generation Pilates Teacher after completing a two year Master course with Lolita San Miguel, a First Generation Pilates Master and Elder. Marian is also a PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher.
As part of her commitment to continuing education, Marian has attended various osteoporosis and postural correction workshops and conferences through the years and strives to convey to the public the importance of safe exercise and form for people with osteoporosis, osteopenia, stenosis and scoliosis. She enjoys the wonderful process of guiding women through their Pilates workout during the months of pregnancy as well.

Monica Perez is a Doctor in Physical Therapy specializing in vestibular therapy and balance through Pilates rehabilitation. Owner of The Core Pilates studio in Saint Augustine, FL, Ms. Perez has 15 years’ experience teaching and treating patients through Pilates rehabilitation. She has completed certifications through Stott Pilates, Kane School of Core Integration, Body and Core Pilates, and is a second generation Pilates Instructor through Lolita San Miguel’s Pilates Master Mentor Program. She lives in Saint Augustine Beach enjoying mermaid life, surfing, running, and everything ocean.

Bernie Nelson, founder of Body & Core Pilates, is certified by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), has completed Pilates programs from all American Pilates, the Kane School of Core Integration for Pilates and Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master. A former collegiate football player for the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he has also held Certification in Personal training from the American Council on Exercise and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
In 2001, after working in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and a Licensed Massage Therapist, Bernie became a Certified Pilates Instructor and opened his first Pilates studio inside Gold’s Gym. With a growing clientele, he opened Body & Core Pilates Studio in 2003, which became the largest Pilates studio in Palm Beach County. Two years later, Bernie began to facilitate the Kane School of Core Integration of New York teacher training program. In 2008, after completing his second Pilates training program, he developed his own Pilates educational program. In 2011, Bernie completed a mentorship program under master and first generation Pilates instructor Lolita San Miguel. Along with Pilates, Bernie has also been a teacher trainer for Redcord, a suspension based exercised training from Norway.
